Amy Poehler is not just a memorable co-star. She is a cool one.

During a recent episode of her Good Hang podcast, the comedian shared a story about a tense moment on a flight that escalated after a fellow passenger criticized her for using profanity near her Mean Girls costar Ana Gasteyer’s baby.

The story came up while Gasteyer appeared as a guest on the podcast’s Christmas episode. As the two reminisced, Gasteyer reminded Poehler of the incident, recalling that they were seated together on the plane when things took a sharp turn.

“I remember being on the plane with you,” Gasteyer said, prompting Poehler to laugh as the memory came back.

Poehler confirmed the moment, explaining that she ended up in a verbal back and forth with another passenger. Gasteyer added that her daughter Frances, who is now 23, was just a baby at the time and was traveling with them during the flight.

The realization caught Poehler off guard. She questioned whether she really got into an argument while a baby was nearby, only for Gasteyer to confirm that was exactly what happened. According to Gasteyer, the man became irritated after Poehler swore within earshot of the child.

Once the details settled in, Poehler shared more context. She explained that both she and the man were seated in first class when he interrupted her, saying she was being too loud. That was the moment, Poehler joked, when her Boston roots took over.

Gasteyer praised the moment, calling it unforgettable and one of the best things she had ever witnessed. Fans can watch the exchange between the two comedians during the podcast conversation, which is available on YouTube through the official Good Hang channel.

Poehler and Gasteyer first crossed paths professionally during their time on Saturday Night Live, where their cast tenures briefly overlapped in the early 2000s. Their collaboration continued when they both appeared in the 2004 comedy Mean Girls, written by Tina Fey.

In the film, Poehler played the mother of Regina George, portrayed by Rachel McAdams, while Gasteyer appeared as the mother of Lindsay Lohan’s character, Cady Heron. The movie remains a cultural staple and continues to be revisited by fans across streaming platforms.
