Samsung’s The Frame has never been about delivering the absolute best picture quality. Instead, it has carved out a loyal following by focusing on design, blending into living spaces like a piece of wall art rather than a traditional television. While several brands have attempted to step into the art TV category over the years, Samsung has largely had the field to itself. That may finally be changing.
LG is preparing to introduce a new Gallery TV that directly targets the same audience, and it is set to make its public debut at the upcoming CES 2026 event in Las Vegas. Built with aesthetics front and center, LG’s latest lifestyle TV aims to disappear into your decor, functioning as artwork when not in use while still delivering modern TV performance underneath.
This new Gallery TV is designed to mount flush against the wall, mimicking the look of a framed painting. It will be available in 55 inch and 65 inch sizes, featuring a 4K Mini LED panel powered by LG’s Alpha 7 AI processor. Much like Samsung’s approach, LG is offering customizable magnetic bezels, allowing users to tailor the TV’s appearance to better match their room’s style.
LG says it worked alongside museum curators to fine-tune how artwork is displayed on the screen. The Gallery TV includes a dedicated Gallery Mode that dynamically adjusts brightness, color temperature, and contrast based on ambient lighting conditions. The goal is to make digital artwork look more natural and less like it is being shown on a backlit screen. Anti glare and reflection reduction features are also built in to maintain a clean, art-like appearance throughout the day.
In addition to its display hardware, the Gallery TV will ship with access to LG’s Gallery+ subscription service. This platform offers more than 4,500 curated artworks that users can display when the TV is idle. Owners will also be able to generate custom images using built-in generative AI tools or cast personal photos from their own collections. More details on Gallery+ can be found through LG’s official newsroom announcement at lg.com.
This is not LG’s first attempt at a canvas-style television. The company previously introduced the GX Gallery OLED TV back at CES 2020, followed by other ultra-slim wall-mounted models over the years. However, those earlier releases focused more on design than on dedicated art features. The new Gallery TV represents LG’s most direct challenge yet to Samsung’s long-running Frame lineup, which you can explore further at samsung.com.
Samsung’s The Frame continues to be one of the most popular lifestyle TVs on the market, even if it does not top performance charts alongside the best OLED or Mini LED sets. Its success has proven there is a strong audience for TVs that prioritize aesthetics just as much as specs. With LG now stepping in with a comparable alternative, buyers may finally have real choice in this niche category.
Pricing and release timing for the LG Gallery TV have not yet been announced. LG says more information will be shared during CES early next year, and pricing could play a major role in how well it competes against Samsung’s offerings. If LG positions the Gallery TV aggressively, it could reshape the art TV space that Samsung has dominated for years.
