Google’s budget-friendly true wireless earbuds might be getting a fresh visual upgrade soon. A new leak suggests that the Google Pixel Buds 2a could arrive in two striking new color options, giving the affordable audio lineup a more playful look without changing what’s under the hood.
At the moment, the Pixel Buds 2a are officially sold in just two shades, Iris and Hazel. That limited palette may not last much longer. According to leaked promotional images, Google appears ready to introduce additional finishes that feel bolder and more expressive than the current lineup.
The images were first shared by Android Headlines, which claims the renders come from official marketing material. One version shows a clean white charging case paired with soft green earbuds and a matching interior. The second option goes in a very different direction, featuring vivid pink earbuds with matching accents on the charging case that immediately stand out.
The brighter color option looks closely related to the Peony shade seen on the Pixel 9a, suggesting Google is continuing its recent trend of using playful colors to differentiate its A-series devices. While Google has not confirmed official color names yet, these finishes appear to align with rumored Pixel 10a colors known internally as Fog and Berry.
Earlier leaks described Fog as a muted off-white tone, but the new images suggest something more nuanced. The lighter option seems to carry a subtle green tint rather than a flat white, giving the earbuds a softer and more refined appearance.
Both versions also feature a thin accent line running between the lid and body of the charging case. It is a small design detail, but it adds contrast and helps the cases feel less plain, especially on the brighter pink variant where the accent makes the color pop even more.
Beyond the updated colors, nothing else appears to be changing. The Pixel Buds 2a are expected to keep the same design, dimensions, features, and hardware found in the original model that launched in August 2025. That includes Google’s familiar audio tuning, seamless Android integration, and a price point that remains accessible for budget-conscious buyers.
Reports indicate the earbuds should continue to sell for $129, positioning them as one of Google’s most affordable wireless audio options. You can revisit the original launch details in this hands-on coverage of the Pixel Buds 2a on Digital Trends for a refresher on what they offer.
As for timing, the leak hints that the new colors could debut alongside Google’s next A-series phone. The Pixel 10a is widely expected to launch in late winter, possibly February or March. Introducing new finishes at the same time would make sense, allowing Google to refresh an existing product without a full redesign.
For now, Google has not officially commented on the leak. Still, the appearance of detailed marketing images usually suggests that a public announcement is not far off. If the reports are accurate, fans of Google’s earbuds may soon have more colorful ways to match their Pixel devices.
